The Association of British Insurers (ABI)

Formed in 1985 following the merger of four existing organisations the ABI (The Association of British Insurers) is positioned to represent the general insurance industry. Based in London with over one hundred staff the Promoting high standards across the industry the ABI also help to voice the common interests of all insurance companies in the UK that have signed up memberships.

There are over four hundred members within the ABI which effectively equates to over 90% of the public and domestic insurance market. The ABI was created to allow one voice to represent the insurance market from all sectors and has managed to achieve that status in the relatively short time. It operates and functions from membership funds and is a leader in producing insurance surveys and reports on behalf of a whole spectrum of insurance products and services.

The Association of British Insurers is also a key provider of insurance related seminars and conferences which enable its members to stay posted with all that is happening in the market place.
