Personal Lines Aquistions

French owned insurance giant AXA have voiced their strategy to continue on the personal lines acquisitions journey. Chief Executive Peter Hubbard has not ruled out.

Their personal lines acquisition of Swiftcover insurance last Month is reported to have cost one hundred and fifty million pounds and AXA have clear intentions to develop the company over the next few years. On the financial level AXA�s bottom line is expected to look pretty healthy with a business increase of over nineteen percent in 2006 over the previous year; however Hubbard is refusing to disclose the profitability of the motor book of business.

What is clear is the fact there appear to be many personal lines brokers companies experiencing take over fever within the insurance market place and AXA as the hunter is heading the pack. If these takeovers have a positive effect on the man on the street then it can only be good news for the British motorist where quality car insurance and value for money need to go hand in hand.
