Older Drivers and Insurance Consumers

The Association of British Insurers ABI are to launch an assistance team to help older drivers and travel insurance consumers when they need to find motor insurance and travel insurance.

The ABI obviously see a need for this service but given the development of technology over the recent years it is possible to understand why. We are now living in an environment were thirty six million people are using the internet on a regular basis with over 55 percent of households having internet access.

Older drivers and older insurance consumers will also be looking at the web but in much lesser numbers and with traditional media and the old high street broker on the decline many older drivers and consumers could be struggling to get the best motoring discounts they deserve.

The scheme to help older drivers get value car insurance policies is also being supported by BIBA the British Insurance Brokers Association, Age Concern and the Citizens Advice Bureau.

The ABI believe there needs to be support available for the older driver generation where they can find the cover and premiums they need.
