Insurance Broker Commissions

The hot topic at the moment still seems to be the issue insurance broker commissions with more speculation there could be reductions in some of the levels paid to insurance brokers.

Whist two major players Norwich Union and AXA have been outspoken in their views on insurance broker commissions another giant Royal Sun Alliance are keeping hush. Chief Executive Bridget McIntyre’s only comment has been to say she had ‘no particular issue’ but would not comment on whether she thought commission levels of forty and fifty percent were too high.

At the car insurance news desk we view the position from a simple business perspective that each business relation has to be viewed on its own merit. The insurance industry has always maintained some level of stability but where relations and levels of business are seen as exceptional then the underwriter should have the intelligence and integrity to implement insurance broker commissions at levels acceptable to them.
