Startling figures from the DSA (Driving Standards Authority) reveal that the marketing for fake driving licences is still a major problem despite efforts to improve security. One area that is being focused on is the obtaining of driving licences through the use of stooge drivers, people who are actually experienced drivers.

The DSA believe tens of thousands of provisional motorists are recruiting these experienced fraudsters to take driving tests on their behalf every year. The cost of employing a fraudster to take the driving test is around five hundred pounds.

Whilst the licences received through these methods are not strictly fake driving licences they are wholly illegal and the implications of danger to general health and safety are paramount.

Employing an imposter to take a driving test is now viewed as a serious issue, many of these imposters offering fake driving licences services are actually involved in organised crime and they use these funds for further criminal activities.

It is estimated that over twenty thousand fake driving licences obtained through these methods exist and the unqualified driver who use them certainly play a part in the three thousand deaths that occur on British roads every year in the UK. The additional impact this has on the innocent motorist who pays a higher premium for their car insurance is also obvious so the need for a solution is important.
