Apart from generally listening to the average motorist complain about the cost of running their car it is now confirmed in a recent survey from motoring service provider Kwik Fit that indeed the cost of motoring has risen. Not only has it risen but certainly the cost of car repairs has risen by over sixty percent in the past ten years which is more than inflation.
A reflection on the cost of motoring in hindsight can be associated to the fact the cost of purchasing a new motor car is actually dropping and due to this many in the motor trade look toward after sales services for profits rather than sales of new cars. In fact many second hand car dealers are making higher profits than their new car dealer associates who now prefer to sell used vehicles rather than new.
Another factor in the cost of motoring, is the cost of car insurance cover and whilst it has risen over the past years is likely to actually fall in the future if the insurance aggregator market continues to swallow the marketing power away from the actual insurance providers. As the aggregators steal away the marketing presence they form an open source of presentation directly to the general public who now have market rates at their fingertips and if they have a wide variety of rates at their disposal the insurers will have to continue cutting their rates to the bone in order to compete.
In some respects the cost of motoring for Britons will continue to rise but more so through taxation on fuel and road use tax rather then the cost of insurance or purchasing new vehicles.
