Combined Home Insurance Better Value Or Not
New Survey Suggests Combined Insurance Might Not Always Be the Best Option
July 2009
A recent survey and research programme from AA insurance has concluded that the UK home insurance consumer might not always be better off buying their buildings and contents insurance from the same source.
For years we have developed an attitude that buying combined home insurance from a single source insurance underwriter will of course deliver the best value for money, well surely you expect this given the loyalty offered by the consumer.
Despite many insurance companies offering special offers for buying the combined home insurance package, it seems that competition in this extremely competitive market is resulting in the customer apparently getting a better deal by shopping around for the separate components of the overall cover.
It is also startling that figures indicate 30 per cent of UK home owners are still obtaining their home insurance through the banks and building societies who arranged their mortgages.
