Midlands based niche classic car insurance brokers Footman James has been acquired by Aon insurance who managed to beat some tough competition from an unnamed private equity house.

The deal for the classic car insurance company Footman James is reported to be worth between Ј60m and Ј80m. The vintage and classic car insurance provider has been established for over 20 years and is reported to look after nearly 150,000 classic and vintage car insurance policy holders.

The deal brings an even more positive future to the already successful intermediary and its current MD believes the move is an exciting opportunity for the company and everyone involved. The deal moving forward is expected to keep the company trading as Footman James with its identity and management structure kept intact which will be good news for all its classic car insurance customers.
