Allianz Cornhill Record Profits

Here at the car insurance news desk we have been keeping our ears to the ground on general insurance giant Allianz Cornhill who have announced record profits for 2006 with figures in the region of Ј240m a 16 percent increase overall. All this after 2005 produced losses in its personal lines business which is now a key element moving forward.

The record profits have now sparked the fire of acquisition as the insurer has announced its interest in increasing its personal lines insurance business in order to maintain more control over it core distribution. Allianz Cornhill have been one of the UK’s top insurance companies for a number of years and are respected in both private and commercial sectors of the insurance industry.

2006 saw the personal lines business for Allianz Cornhill return to profit with the commercial business and car insurance elements returning reasonable ratios. Allianz Cornhill insurance will be an interesting company to watch this year as it makes strategic moves in aqcuiring other companies to strengthen its portfolio.
