Yes it does look as though the price comparison market is taking off at speed as yet another major player joins the trend by launching a site for small to medium business enterprises. A British Gas comparison site has been launched offering an online insurance solution for business customers.

British Gas believe they have a natural progression flow from cross selling related products and the general insurance product sits perfectly in the model for helping their business customers.

Insurance companies such as Norwich Union, AXA and Royal Sun Alliance are on board supporting the move as panel members.

The British Gas comparison site was launched over a month ago an is expected to impact in the coming months.

The price comparison model is now coming through as being the most influencial change to modern day marketing pracitices in recent years. The policy of charging leads out based on cost per sale is becoming the norm and a practice that suits the business model of most companies.

Offering the general public choice and value for money has to be a good thing but whether the model is a long term viable option for businesses who are having to present their cheapest rates just top survive and be seen is another longer term question.
