FSA broadly view the price comparison market as being healthy

The ever growing car insurance price comparison market is continuing to explode at a dramatic rate and interest into its activity by the FSA has been widely exposed in previous news publications.

There have been concerns voiced that despite advertising the 'input one quote' and get the cheapest quotes possible claims were in-fact misleading.

Many consumers were apparently finding that when they were calling the individual car insurance brokers to chase up the quotes, they were then given premiums higher than those stated on the car insurance price comparison site.

Other consumers were complaining that once they had received their quotes from the car insurance price comparison sites they were then inundated with phone calls from the motor insurance companies who suddenly had access to the consumers details. Whilst this does against the rules and terms laid down by most insurance aggregators its does apparently occur frequently.

It appears for now however that the FSA seem to have given the insurance aggregators a clean bill of health but we are sure there will be careful and ongoing scrutiny of the price comparison market over the next few years.
