Motor Insurance Might Be Static but Other Costs Continue to Rise
As 1200 oil refinery workers in Grangemouth strike over pension conditions the pleas from Government officials for motorists not to panic at the pumps seems to have gone unnoticed, again!
It seems as though any media message for drivers not to panic over possible fuel shortages now instinctively gives them a green light to do exactly that.
Even though the focus of attention was centred around Scotland it appears that motorists across the UK have panicked once again. Garage forecourts throughout Britain have been busy all day today and are likely to remain so for the rest of the weekend.
Despite numerous pleas from different motoring and Government authorities many petrol stations have already run dry leaving sensible motorists fuming. Overall the cost of motoring and private transport appearing to be spiralling.
Even though car insurance premiums have remained relatively static other motoring costs such as fuel expenses, tax and other stealth charges are leaving many car drivers pondering whether its simply worth it anymore.
Although the Grangemouth strike is set for just two days BP have closed the Forties pipeline that delivers two thirds of the countries petrol and diesel supplies, the predicted cost of this to the company is believed to be £50m a day.
