Insurance Aggregators in the Spotlight

Defaqto are claiming that many price comparison company websites offering household insurance have dropped behind price comparison companys offering motor insurance cover . This is due to the increase in companies apparently failing to treat customers fairly and failing to offer the right advice.

Research carried out by BIBA found that only 5 out of the 28 major price comparison companies could be classified as true aggregators with the rest literally only offering advice and many were failing to treat customers fairly or offering insufficient advice.

The online market for home insurance and car insurance needs to start ensuring that the consumers can truly make an informed decision to purchase their insurance cover, having been offered the right advice.
